Every child must be in school.
According to research the Upper East Region of has the highest percentage of school drop out and most children do not attend school at all. This is due to factors like:
Poor living conditions(poverty)
Damaged school buildings(school buildings without roof)
Neglect by government to build more schools
Teenage Pregnancy
Newly drilled borehole for Apatanga Junior High School.
Apatanga is about 3km away from Bongo central and is one of the areas in the district that lack portable drinking water. There are 3 schools in the Community with only two having a borehole. The aim of BONDO is to make sure each child in this Community has access to portable drinking water.

A new borehole for the students, who now have more time for studies as they don't have to fetch and carry water.

St Peter's & St Columba's Episcopal Churches provide clean water to Agubri town
Linlithgow and Bathgate Episcopal Churches support has provided a repaired borehole and new handpump for Agubri community.

BONDO Trust (Full name Bongo Development Organisation/Trust has been operational in Ghana since 2008 and has drilled and installed 9 new boreholes and repaired 58 boreholes in Bongo District of Upper East Region. Funding for these has been provided by Donors including Living Water Africa, Project Bongo (Shetland), DNV/GL, Dan Phipps, St Paul & St Columba's Episcopal Church Scotland and private donations.
BONDO Trust has constructed over 150 latrines in Upper East Region, Ghana, funded by the donors Bongo Development Organisation (Cambridge).
We have trained 000's people in Water and Sanitation, and set up community organisations to ensure sustainability.
